Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine how a sports edutainment complex exercise intervention affects physical fitness and whether there is a correlation between physical fitness and EEG activity in lower elementary school students. Participants were 23 lower elementary school students (9 males, 14 females) from G Elementary School in G City, and parental consent was obtained. The research method was a sports edutainment complex exercise program for 12 weeks, and basic physical fitness tests and EEG activity were measured. For data processing, a two-way analysis of variance was conducted to examine the effect of 12 weeks of combined exercise on gender, and a Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between physical fitness factors and EEG activity. The results of this study are as follows. As a result of the sports edutainment complex exercise, the physical fitness factors strength, quickness, agility, equilibrium, and muscular endurance were significantly higher in boys than girls, and flexibility was higher in girls than boys. The interaction between time and group showed a significant difference, and the post hoc test showed that boys were significantly higher in agility. However, the physical fitness factors were not correlated with EEG activity. Therefore, it was found that sports edutainment complex exercise had a positive effect on improving physical fitness in lower elementary school students.
