Abstract
The purpose of this study was to empirically analyze the relationship between self-management, intention to continue athlete life, and exercise passion among elite table tennis players. Specifically, after analyzing the relationship between self-management, athletic passion, and athlete's life continuation intention of table tennis players, it is intended to investigate the relationship between athletic passion and athlete's life continuation intention. The mediating role of passion was clarified. To collect data, a survey was conducted on 318 elite table tennis players from high schools, universities, and vocational teams across the country, and a total of 313 copies of data were used for the final analysis. For data processing, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, frequency analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were performed using the SPSS 24.0 program, and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed using the AMOS 24.0 program. carried out. The results derived from the analysis are summarized as follows. First, self-management of table tennis players affects their intention to continue their career. In other words, the better the table tennis players are in self-management, the stronger their intention to continue playing. Second, the self-management of table tennis players affects their passion for sports. In other words, the better the table tennis players self-manage, the higher their enthusiasm for sports. Third, the athletic passion of table tennis players affects their intention to continue their life. The more the table tennis players have a passion for sports, the stronger their intention to continue playing. Fourth, the athletic passion of table tennis players plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between self-management and the intention to continue the athlete's life. In other words, self-management not only directly affects the intention to continue the athlete's life, but also has an indirect effect through athletic passion. The above research results confirmed the importance of self-management of elite table tennis players, and at the same time confirmed that individual passion is necessary to continue their professional life for a long time. As a result, the results of this study provide theoretical implications that self-management and athletic passion are important to sustain an athlete's life.
