Abstract
In this study, in order to evaluate lateral performances of precast concrete shear walls according to the seismic details of their vertical joint, test specimens satisfying the design provisions of the intermediate precast shear wall specified in ACI 318-19 were fabricated and tested under reversed cyclic loading. The strength, ductility, energy dissipation, and stiffness reduction characteristics of the specimens were quantitatively evaluated, and the seismic performance of the specimens was compared to the performance evaluation method presented in ASCE 41-17. As a result of the experimental study, it was found that the precast shear walls can sufficiently satisfy the performance required in the current design codes.
