The main purpose of this research is to provide basic reference guidelines for interior prototypical characteristics exhibition structures of museums and exhibit halls as permanent exhibition spaces. Firstly many different types of exhibition structures were classified as elevational, sectional, planar shapes after visiting actual exhibition spaces. Secondly each exhibition structure was named by additional detail shapes such as special form, layout, division, etc. The research was mainly focused on forty different permanent exhibition spaces in Busan because evaluation of user’s satisfaction is very low points compared with other cities in Korea. Lastly exhibition structures were classified in a different way in order to analyze by a period, size, and main exhibition contents. Therefore it would be greatly helpful basic research materials for understanding currently well used types of exhibition structures in permanent exhibition spaces as well as designing advanced exhibition spaces as designer’s point of view after realizing users preference along with satisfaction values.
