Abstract
Digital beamforming system based on Chinese Tile Processing Module version 2 (CTPM-v2) developed by KLAASA is a digital beamforming back-end processor for SKA low frequency aperture array. Digital beamforming system supports multiple beamforming in quanta of up to 128 channels of analog signal with maximum 300MHz instantaneous bandwidth. A series of experiment results show that the system has a very good long-time stability, and the channelization characteristics meet the design requirements. KLAASA realized simultaneous 8 beams forming by this system. As the software and firmware of digital beamforming system can be customized according to different requirements, digital beamforming system is suitable for different types of low-frequency aperture array, which is conducive to promoting the development of digital array radio telescopes.
