Abstract
It is helpful for dispatchers to master the dynamic security and stability characteristics of the system after fault according to the analysis results of low frequency oscillation. Firstly, the principle of low frequency oscillation mode identification using Prony algorithm is introduced in the paper. Then the reasons for a big difference in the identification results of dominant mode after small fluctuation of curve are analyzed. According to analysis results, a dominant mode identification method of low frequency oscillation in power system based on Prony algorithm and correlation analysis is proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the example of ideal signal and actual system simulation curve.
