Abstract
This article presents an algorithm for collecting and analyzing information on water sources such as lakes and dams. The algorithm is based on processing previously taken photos of aircraft. The images are processed by algorithms in the MATLAB environment, in order to find the water resource in the image, compile a model for the different shades of water color and calculate the water area of the source found. This calculation is used to track the change in water resources and assess whether the change is temporary or permanent, to make decisions based on the area of use of the water resource.
