Abstract
This paper describes an implementation of 3D angle-only filtering techniques for use in an airborne radar sensor with applications for passive modes of operation. Two target cases are considered - ground based target at fixed location and that of a moving target. For the fixed case, approaches used for accurate location finding are described with simulation results. For the moving target case, the Modified Spherical Coordinates (MSC) filtering approach is used for target tracking. Own aircraft maneuver is necessary for observing range of moving target. Simulation results are provided for specific target geometry with single and two consecutive own aircraft maneuvers.
