Abstract
According to the information obtained from error resistance, the settings of the distance relay can be improved. Using COMTRADE error data from distance equipment, this paper uses the offline program to estimate the location of transmission line errors. There is no need for data synchronization in the proposed method. This method uses errors recorded at the beginning and end of the lines. Finally it is used for different types of errors, especially for single phase to ground error (A-G) and the lightning strike with the transmission lines. Simulations and also the value range of error resistance is determined 60Hz for the 400 kV line.
