Abstract
In this work, the design procedure of a compact low-pass filter (LPF) using a unit-cell slotted-ground-plane (SGP) resonator has been presented. Firstly, the analysis of frequency response of the H-shaped slot resonator etched in the ground plane has been show by using the transmission-line analysis method and even-and-odd analysis method. Secondly, based on the stepped-impedance (SI) structure, we systematically conclude the resonance analysis of the slot resonator, such as the resonance condition and harmonic response, and successfully derive the design rule of the slot resonator. Finally, the proposed low-pass filter with a low-impedance transmission line is demonstrated, which consists of the H-shaped slot resonator in the ground plane and two C-slot resonators. The comparison of the simulated and measured results are also shown.
