Abstract
Experimental results for Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) imagery of ships using a passive radar system equipped with a DVB-S receiver are reported in this paper. It is demonstrated that meaningful ISAR images of objects such as large ships can be formed. Preliminary results show that the length can be estimated with errors around 4%, while the presence of objects consisting of rotating components and their locations on the ship can be seen by observing the presence of micro-Doppler components in the ISAR images.
