Abstract
The design of diffusion-based breathalyzers was optimized for selective detection of different Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) using a single gas sensor e-nose. The results for two sample collection methods and microchannel designs were compared. Microchannels were fabricated using 3D printing technology, and a smartphone app was developed as a user interface. A novel cross-hair flow restricting design was developed, and it was shown that the use of superhydrophobic coating will further enhance the sensor response and selectivity.
