Abstract
The purpose of this experimental work is to investigate the production of active species present in an atmospheric pressure DBD afterglow in high gas flow of Nitrogen. The experimental set-up here presented has been conceived for surface treatment applications in afterglow conditions. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) is used for the analysis and characterization of the afterglow. Special attention is drawn on the production of atomic Oxygen and Nitrogen as well the N 2 (A) metastable. A NO-titration method along with a kinetic model for the afterglow is used in order to estimate the aforementioned species' densities when varying experimental parameters.
