Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the force of dynamically contracting muscles using direct measurements of electromyographic signals in cat plantaris muscles. An adaptive filtering least-mean-squares algorithm was used for the force estimation. The results of this study indicate that adequate estimations of dynamic muscular force are possible without using instantaneous muscle properties, such as force-length and force-velocity relations.ETX
