Abstract
This paper proposes a five-level power converter structure suitable for three-phase switched reluctance motors (SRMs) and elaborates on its operation modes, including singlephase and two-phase operation modes. The proposed structure effectively reduces the number of switching tubes and achieves the simultaneous conduction of two-phase. Through simulation and experimental verification, the proposed converter has successfully achieved direct instantaneous torque control (DITC). The experimental data has confirmed that the proposed structure and operation modes can significantly reduce torque ripple during commutation in the control process of SRM.
