Abstract
Telemedicine, with the rapid advancement of technology, has revolutionized itself as a possible alternative for building a greener future and meeting global health requirements when the world is struggling with the pressing issues of climate change and the need for fair healthcare access. Through the use of modern communication technologies, telemedicine can remotely diagnose, treat and monitor patients. Telemedicine has a favourable effect on the environment since it reduces the need for physical travel, carbon emissions, energy consumption and the creation of waste in comparison to the traditional healthcare system. Telemedicine also encourages patients to take an active role in their self-care and disease management, which ultimately benefits their health. This paper studies the ecological advantages of telemedicine and points out the possible challenges that could arise and also suggests some innovative strategies that could be used to make the practice more long-term and environment friendly.
