Abstract
This paper presents the design of a circular polarization-sensitive receiving and transmitting meta-atom. The meta-atom consists of a receiving antenna, a metal floor, and a transmitting antenna, with both antennas interconnected through a metal via. Utilizing the meta-atom concept, a terahertz broadband Janus transmit-reflect-array antenna with high efficiency is developed. In the case of forward incidence, the reflection space is utilized for left-handed circularly polarized waves, while the transmission space is employed for left-handed circularly polarized waves. In the case of backward incidence, the reflection space is not utilized, whereas the transmission space is utilized for right-handed circularly polarized waves, maintaining the same functionality as in forward incidence.
