Abstract
This paper introduces an autonomous control system for economic loading allocation in islanded DC microgrids (MGs). The proposed controller equalizes all DGs' incremental costs (ICs), thus minimizing MG's total generation cost concerning generations-demands power balancing, line loss, and DGs’ power limits. A combination of the washout filter-based and IC-based droop controller is developed while the simplicity and autonomous features of the droop controller are preserved. The foremost advantage of the developed control strategy is guaranteeing MG’s economic performance, retaining the voltage regulation, and the plug-and-play capability without any communication links. The efficacy of the designed control system is proven under various case studies.
