Abstract
This work focuses on designing a control system for vibration attenuation in cantilever beam structures. These structures are widely used in various industries but are prone to vibrations that can lead to structural deformations, system failures, and increased energy consumption. To address these issues, we propose a velocity feedback-based control approach that targets a non-fading periodic disturbance matching the critical natural frequency of the cantilever beam. A prototype was constructed, and experimental tests were conducted to validate the proposed control approach. Modal identification methods were employed to determine the parameters of the instrumented beam, and simulation studies were performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. Finally, the controller was implemented on the physical prototype. The results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed controller in attenuating vibrations, with more significant improvements observed in simulation compared to physical experiments.
