Generating MeV Electrons using Radially Polarized Modes

Abstract
Relativistic electron beams exceeding 1 MeV are generated by direct laser acceleration in a low-density gas using radial polarization. A clear dependence on ionization dynamics is revealed by varying the laser intensity and gas species.
