Abstract
The phase-encoded linear sampling method (PE-LSM) is a qualitative inverse scattering technique that can create high-fidelity target images from synthetic-aperture data acquisitions. Unlike conventional backprojection approaches, it does not rely on isotropic point scatterer models, and thus has the potential for avoiding imaging artifacts in wide-angle scenarios. In this paper, we evaluate the relative imaging performance of the PE-LSM and a backprojection implementation using simulated synthetic aperture radar data.
