Abstract
In continuous steel sheet production lines at steel mills, steel sheets are transported by contact support by rollers, but problems exist, such as deterioration of surface quality resulting from contact between steel sheets and rollers. In previous research, high inductive performance was achieved in experiments by installing electromagnets on the sides of steel sheets along the path of conveyance. However, the shape of the steel plate has not yet been obtained analytically. Therefore, there is a focus on multibody dynamics (MBDs), and the optimal placement of electromagnets is being investigated. In this study, the behavior of steel plates when the damping coefficient is changed was analyzed using MBDs. The results show that the behavior is close to that obtained in the actual free vibration experiments.
