Abstract
In this article, an alternative way of calibrating the field strength of an electromagnetic field for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing is proposed. The reason of this method is to improve the uniformity of field in the area, where the equipment under test (EUT) and its cabling are located, and to improve the worst-case conditions and quantified overtesting margins. Three different frequency dependent uniform field area (UFA) configurations are presented in this article. The main purpose is to use special configurations of calibration points, so the testing field strength will be only minimally above the prescribed field strength levels.
