Abstract
A number of recent works dealing with network resilience have offered approaches to planning for the restoration of disrupted network components, primarily driven by measures of network performance (e.g., proportion of met demand). With this short communication, we propose an alternative perspective on restoration driven by how inequalities in the restoration process impact the entire network. Namely, we examine restoration strategies that restore the Kolm–Pollak equally distributed equivalent (EDE) measure. We illustrate this initial exploration with two networks of differing sizes, and we propose several areas of future research in incorporating the EDE measure in more comprehensive network restoration studies.
