Abstract
Se presentan los resultados obtenidos de los estudios líticos del material arqueológico del sitio El Castillo (Chubut, Patagonia argentina), que muestran predominio del uso de materias primas locales —principalmente xilópalo y calcedonia— para la manufactura de una tecnología expeditiva compuesta por instrumentos de filos naturales y de múltiples usos, así como para la elaboración de artefactos formateados. ENGLISH: We present the results obtained from the lithic studies of the archaeological findings from the El Castillo site (Chubut, Argentine Patagonia), which show a predominance of the use of local raw materials – mainly xylopal and chalcedony – for the manufacture of an expeditious technology composed of natural-edged and multipurpose tools, as well as for the elaboration of formatted artifacts.
