Abstract
The article shows a reflection on Mexican universities contact with the environment, as well as its analysis, theorizing and meaning, as one of its fundamental processes. Its purpose is not only the interpretation and reflection on the current state of this problem, but the transformation of the reality studied by identifying the potential of the entailment and its main weaknesses, enabling understanding and consequently the strengthening of social responsibility of these institutions in this context.
