Abstract
The methodology of coordinating the product and the production system in accordance with the value stream is presented using a demonstration product at Fraunhofer IAO. In an early phase of product development, the value stream is simulated and the delivery capability is analyzed. Based on a real industrial product, the delivery time determining part is standardized and the number of variants is reduced from 128 to 2. With this valuestream-oriented product design, the requirements for delivery capability can be met.
