Abstract
In this video, Ray demonstrates the dangers of not fully vetting new technology. His client Sonya confronts Ray about how his use of a new online platform has resulted in her getting targeted ads about her diagnosis. Rather than take responsibility for his negligence, Ray insists that there’s no way the platform sold her data to third parties, and implies Sonya may have inadvertently shared this information. By failing to repair this rupture in their trust, Ray undermines Sonya’s autonomy over use of her private information and decision to stay in teletherapy.
