Abstract
Efficient catalytic CO2 conversion to methanol is critical to achieving net zero. Non-thermal plasma, an ionized gas containing a mixture of electrons and reactive species, can effectively activate CO2 under mild conditions. Here, we report a bimetallic Ni-Co catalyst that enables CO2 hydrogenation to methanol at 35°C and 0.1 MPa, achieving impressive 46% selectivity and 24% conversion. This breakthrough paves the way for a more sustainable and flexible approach to CO2 utilization and fuel production using renewable energy sources.
