Abstract
Highlights •A molecular-level designed GPE with vertically aligned channels is fabricated via grafting ionic liquid molecular brushes.•Vertically aligned channels in GPE can reduce the ionic transport distance.•The grafted ionic liquid molecular brushes on the channels can promote Li+ fast transference.•Interface stability of Li metal anode is improved via the Lewis acidic sites of ionic liquid with salt anions.•The Li||LiFePO4 cell with IL@SiO2@PVDF shows superior cyclic and rate performance.
