Abstract
Highlights •TEMPO oxidation can introduce more active groups on the surface and inside of the wood fiber.•The in-situ synthesis of ZnO on and inside the fiber can form a coaxial structure.•Fiber/ZnO PEG can produce a VOC of 5.5 V and a power density of 21.57 μW cm−3.•Fiber/ZnO MEG can generate a VOC of 0.47 V at 85 % RH.•The fiber/ZnO composite film has potential in both piezoelectric and moist-electric application.
