Abstract
Highlights •Two novel CLHG-based systems for achieving near-zero carbon emissions were proposed.•Economy, energy, exergy and ecology analysis for the systems was carried out.•CLHG-CHM-CCS system proved to be more economical.•Carbon capture rates for both systems exceed 99.5%.•Reactors within the CLHG subsystem account for 42.60% of its total exergy loss.
