Abstract
@@@@Highlights •Explored the application of various clay materials in the methane to methanol.•Cu/KAO exhibited similar activity as copper-based zeolite catalysts.•EXAFS indicates that Cu/KAO has Cu–O, Cu–Si/Al and Cu–Cu coordination structures.•In-situ FT-IR indicates that methoxy is intermediate of methane to methanol.
