Abstract
Highlights •Proper axial compression ratio (< 0.3) is beneficial to the explosion resistance of CFST column.•Appropriate hollow ratio (6% ∼ 23%) can improve the explosion resistance of CFST columns while reducing usage of concrete.•When the hollow ratio increases, the effect of concrete properties on the anti-explosion of CFST column is weakened.•In the case of sufficient database conditions, ANN can give a more accurate peak displacement than SDOF and FE immediately.
