Abstract
Highlights •Mixed-integer constrained optimization model for two-layer blast resistance sandwich panel.•Surrogate-assisted differential evolution (SADE-TCSP) for mixed-integer constrained optimization.•An optimization framework integrating MATLAB and ABAQUS.•Numerical experiments shows the remarkable efficiency of the proposed SADE-TCSP.•The total mass of the optimized sandwich panel is smaller than that of traditional sandwich panel.
