Abstract
The report focuses on the decrease in the incidence and mortality from acute myocardial infarction in Sweden in 2012 based on the findings by Swedeheart, a national registry of all patients hospitalized of acute coronary syndrome in Sweden. Changes and characteristics of patients with the particular heart disease are discussed. The report explores the improvement in the treatment of the disease and its stability. Comparisons between different types of prostheses are provided.
