Abstract
The article discusses expansion of spectrum for mobile data, the problems with clearing existing licensees and auctioning them, and the different forms of sharing spectrum for wireless communication. The National Broadband Plan (Federal Communications Commission, 2010a) by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which includes freeing 500 megahertz (MHz) and its drawbacks are listed. Topics include revision of the spectrum policy and licensed and unlicensed spectrum.
