Abstract
The article focuses on the condition of the aquaculture industry in the U.S. Topics include the report of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which shows the slight drop of seafood consumption in the country in 2012 due to the increasing population and decreasing commercial fishery catches, the support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the sector through its Agricultural Research Service (ARS), and the need to explore the nutritional and health value of fish.
