Abstract
The article explores the susceptibility of pregnant women with chronic helminth infections to congenital infectious diseases. The results of a systematic review reveals that these women are more susceptible to these diseases, such as malaria and HIV infections, due to the immunoregulatory effects of malnutrition, pregnancy, and helminth infections. The associations of helminth infection during pregnancy suppress immune responses to postnatal immunization.
