Abstract
The article analyzes prevalence and mortality related with 289 diseases and injuries between 1990 and 2010. Prevalence for all ages in 2010 ranged from less than one case per one million people to 350,000 cases per one million people. In the same year, years lived with disability (YLD) for 1,160 sequelae were estimated at 777 million from all causes, representing an increase from the 1990 estimate of 583 million. Main contributors to global YLDs were found to be mental disorders and diabetes.
