Abstract
The article discusses a study of the determinants and magnitude of economic dependency among older people in India. The researcher analyzed a national representative sample of 34,229 elderly aged 60 years and above and assessed their economic dependence. The researcher found that 66 percent of the participants are economic dependent and 34 percent are economic independent. The researcher also observed a direct relation between economic dependence and age.
