Abstract
The article discusses the history of the ancient city of Nakhon Pathom in Thailand, with information on its Dvāravatī moated site which dates from the seventh to 11th century. Topics include the art-history approach in studies of Nakhon Pathom by researcher Pierre Dupont and researcher Piriya Krairiksh, archaeological studies in 1981 of the social and cultural stratigraphy in the areas of the excavation of the Phasook Indrawooth site, and evidence of human occupation found at the excavation of the Hor-Ek site in 2009.
