Abstract
An interview with professor Ermanno Vitale from the University of Valle d’Aosta, Italy, is presented. When asked about the definition of right and the importance of the concept, Dr. Vitale comments that every right must be attached to a rule of law. Dr. Vitale refers to human rights as those relating to the status of a person. Dr. Vitale believes that liberalism and democracy are closely associated in modern society.
