Abstract
The article discusses the utilization of thermoplastic materials in the construction of railroad bridges and other types of bridges capable of carrying automobiles and trains. It mentions the benefits of thermoplastic materials such as resistance to types of salts and acids, and ultraviolet degradation of less than 0.003 per year. It says that the world's first railroad bridges made of thermoplastic materials were constructed at the U.S. Army Transportation School in 2010.
