Abstract
The article discusses aspects of clinical research on evidence-based surgical practice of clinicians in Africa. It explores several issues including the patient's quality of life, decision making of surgeons, and reduction in medical care costs. It reports that 38 percent of senior surgeon scientists ceased to carry out research before the age of 40.
