Abstract
The article discusses violence in youth and high school hockey. A severe injury suffered by Minnesota high school player Jack Jablonski which has left him paralyzed and a subsequent rule changes by high school hockey administrators in that state creating stricter penalties for rules violations involving violent collisions are considered. The author, mother of a Minnesota high school player, describes her mixed emotions about her son's participation in the sport.
