Reports on the absence of mutations in exon 8 of the LMNA gene in partial lipodystrophy (PLD) associated with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) for HIV patients. Characteristics of the HIV patients; Disorders that result from mutations within the LMNA gene; Evidence to link the appearance of HAART-associated PLD to the introduction of HAART in the therapeutic armamentum of HIV disease.
