Abstract
The article presents a study on the changes of the metabolic demands for different physiological states of a Hawaiian monk seal. It mentions the evaluation of monk seal's metabolic rates as its metabolic demands was being compared to other marine mammals. It reveals that the juvenile age class of Hawaiian monk seals appear more vulnerable to resource limitations than adults.
