Abstract
Information about several events and speeches at the 2006 Annual Conference of the American Library Association (ALA), held in New Orleans, Louisiana is presented. Topics include librarians' perspectives on the reconstruction of the city after the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, a speech by Dan Savage, head of the It Gets Better project, which provides services for LGBT youth, and the Auditorium Speaker Series speech by Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked government documents in 1971.
