Abstract
Presents a study that reviewed palm remains recorded at archaeological sites throughout North and South America. Kinds of remains found at sites from the southern United States to southern Uruguay; Possible role of human groups in the dispersal of some palm species in the neotropics; Probable reason for the predominance of endocarps at the sites.
